FIX GUN WHEN SHOOTING

A lot of times, the gun can go down when training. Instinctively build in a skillset to fix a gun as soon as possible. If the gun slide locks, this is basically an emergency reload. The gun was supposed to be functioning. You expected it to and it did not so get the gun up working again ASAP and slam a new magazine into the mag well. Whether you use a slide release or an overhand rack, is your discretion but the end result, the end goal is get the gun running. If you have a malfunction clear it ASAP. Of course be safe. Get your finger off the trigger. Be aware of your muzzle but instinctively build the skill set to clear the gun and get it working whenever there is anything wrong with it at any time.

Further, stay on your friends when shooting with others. If there is a malfunction encourage them to fix it and cheer them on and don’t give them any slack. In other words whether it’s a stovepipe, jammed round, double feed or any assortment of issues, get your buddy to react to him as soon as possible and fix it as quickly as possible. You can work on the techniques of clearing jams afterwards but get to the fixing as soon as possible.
