Mike Hughes
Mike Hughes started shooting to fill a competitive void. The past four years he has been completely devoted to pistolcraft and dedicated his life to the pursuit of mastering speed and accuracy while utilizing sports science principles to maximize performance. Mike believes that training hard and smart is a central component of performance and that training has to be daily, sustainable and rewarding. Mike is a Grand Master USPSA Shooting in Production Class and took 7th place in 2010 USPSA Production Nationals. Mike’s objective is to provide solutions in the realm of training to relentlessly focus on eliminating weaknesses, expanding on strengths and utilizing anything from anywhere that adds value. Focusing on long term training solutions, Mike personally tests all programs to ensure sustainability, simplicity and quantifiable gains while maintaining a demanding schedule.
Steve Gowin
Steve Gowin spent 6 years in the U.S. Army serving in a light infantry unit, during which he trained with several different nations. Steve is now a thirteen year veteran with a major metropolitan sheriff’s department in the Pacific Northwest. For the past nine years he has been a member of the SWAT team where he was a sniper for the first four years and is now an entry/breacher (mechanical, explosive and shotgun). He has served in several hundred missions (search warrants, dignitary protection, barricades, etc.) Steve is a firearms instructor for handgun, rifle and shotgun training in Washington State. Steve served on the cadre for the Washington State Sniper School and Patrol Rifle and trains his department in all firearms. He also holds several instructor certificates. Recently, Steve was on the team that took first place at the American Heroes Challenge in 2009 and 2010. He also shoots IDPA and IPCS matches.
Chris Collins
Chris served for 5 years in the Marine Corps. While serving in the Marines Chris served in both an Infantry Unit and FAST Company (Fleet Antiterrorism Security Team). After serving in the Marine Corps Chris went to work at the US Shooting Academy where he became the Lead Firearms Instructor. Chris went on to compete on Top Shot with NLT’s Mike Hughes. After Top Shot Chris launched ATAP Training. Chris believes in a practical, intelligent approach to training that allows for an increase in efficiency. During his short career Chris has taught several units/teams in the U.S. government, the British Royal Marine Commandos, Iraqi Police Officers, and everyone in between.
Bryan Pacey
Bryan Pacey is a fourteen year veteran of a large metropolitan sheriff's office in the Seattle area. He has been assigned to SWAT for the last nine years and has been selected as the training coordinator for the team. In this capacity he is responsible for developing curriculum, implementing and overseeing training, and developing numerous Standard Operating Procedures. In addition to SWAT he has been a patrol officer, gang enforcement officer, and an undercover narcotics detective. Prior to his law enforcement career, Bryan spent six years in the US Marine Corps Reserve as an infantry rifleman and assault lead climber. Bryan is a state certified firearms instructor for pistol, advanced tactical pistol, shotgun, and patrol rifle. He is also a certified instructor by the National Tactical Officer's Association for Active Shooter Response. Bryan has conducted firearms training for his department and numerous other agencies.
